Devlog 10: The finish line
Introduction
We did it! We did it! We did it, yeah! Yes, we did it! Dora is there again to celebrate our victory as we’ve reached the finish line. After 10 weeks of pouring all our love and passion into this game, we happily announce that our game has been completed! Enjoy our final devlog and thank you for joining us for this amazing adventure!
Decals
Tattoos are cool. What about tattoos for levels? Well, it’s called a decal! There are now decals placed all around the level, which really ties it together. From cobwebs to paint splatters, we’ve got it all.
X-ray Vision
Did you ever want to have a superpower? Well, now you have one in this game! You are able to see your character through walls. This greatly improves gameplay as you can always keep track of where your character is running. A clear grey silhouette is shown where your character stands.
Player
We already had all kinds of effects and sounds for running and jumping around, but there wasn’t anything yet for landing after a jump. This update provides this for you! There is now a “thud” sound together with some particles.
Spring
The model for the bouncy spring was a bit boring, so it got a visual improvement. Instead of simply a round top, it’s now a bottlecap.
Transitions
There are now nice transitions from one scene to the next. Here you can see how that looks:
As you can see, this week we mostly did very small things. But all of those added up amount to a greater experience. To us, this was one of the more important updates we’ve ever done.
